In association with DEFRA, we have set aside some 90 acres of grazing land adjacent to the River Avon as a Wildlife Reserve and Watermeadows. This scheme is now maturing and wild flowers in the meadows together with Lapwing, Skylarks and a pair of nesting Curlews are on the site. Signs of Otter from the river have been recorded. This is a long term project and one of the largest new schemes in South Worcestershire, which should bring substantial wildlife benefit to the area.

The water meadows provide ideal organic grazing for the Pedigree Highland cattle that make this their home during the late summer and autumn months before the water levels rise and they are transferred to higher ground. It is a marvellous start for the young calves born in the spring and early summer.
